A brilliant fresh addition to horror - James Coen - 19/04/2011 09:33:35
Firstly, wow! What a novel! Alex has used great suspense, characters, jumps and scares in his fantastic debut novel. He creates his timing well and kept me constantly on the edge of my seat with his creativity. If this guy is this guys first novel then he will go far!

Great Read - Laurence Routledge - 27/06/2011 13:45:26
Wow! Great book and kept me guessing throughout. Won't spoil it for you, but if you buy the book to quote "You'll see"! look forward to Alex's next book.

A fine debut - Jack Fryer - 13/09/2011 20:16:45
Alex Halpern's debut novel is a fine chiller, perfect for a Halloween read. The heroes are likeable and the villains are sinister. The pace is fast but still enjoyable. I can't wait for the next one

Raining Good! - Tom Araya - 20/09/2011 19:36:19
My band mate Dave was reading this book when he was practicing his double pedals on drums. Before I kicked him to south of heaven said he couldn't put the book down. So I got a copy and it is really good and now I am a disciple of the cult of Alex Halpern. The book starts off quiet then explodes like a war ensemble and delves into a world painted blood where there is no sanctuary. Characters are picked off by the Angel of Death unexpectedly which gives the book a good twist. An amazing read and one that will make you scream, very high pitched!

Read em all - James Hetfield - 02/10/2011 18:34:58
I found my son restless at night, so I hit the lights and asked him what was fueling his nights that prevented the Sandman from entering. He said this book called House of Wolves had caused him a nightmare all night long. So I read a few chapters and if I was a kid it would have had me trapped under ice of fear. One thing Halpern does well is to keep you guessing from which character that creeping death will take next, I found myself gasping along with my son when reading it. This debut novel is great and will be the new harvester of sorrow for you.

With time he will get better - Dalek56 - 11/09/2011 20:57:08
This book is great for someone still in school right now, but if an adult wrote it I'd be incredibly frustrated. The book is a good yarn but is incredibly cliched and rips off loads of films. But with time Halpern will develop a bigger vocab and use words other than sinister.
