Thought provoking - Janine Gibson - 26/04/2011 07:17:25
A fantastic, thought provoking book that was devoured in less than two days. The story of the curious Baz was a roller coaster of emotions and sympathy. His character was utterly palpable, believable and intriguing. I found myself full of compassion for the struggles that he faced in his journey to the ‘other side’ of humanity. The God ‘character’ in itself raises all manner of thoughts and questions and I found it re-igniting my own confusion of a 21st Century believer over why we are left alone.... In essence the story of Baz’s confusion as to why ‘we’ were not nice to each other as a race as he tried to get to grips with 21st century living was beautifully written and leaves you wanting to know about the next instalment in his life...

Social commentary at its best. - Ruth Gordon - 04/09/2011 19:41:52
Rich with observations about today’s society, Elham's narrative grows increasingly captivating as it unfolds. As well as telling a love story, Elham draws unrelenting attention to the state of the world in which we live; nature is being destroyed, personal values do not exist and nothing is sacred. It speaks to all of us because it is about all of us. Parallel Man is so much more than a book; it is a captivating and stimulating tale of love and existence. It will intrigue you from the start and leave you speculating long after have turned the last page.

You´ll Love Baz - Will Hadcroft - 20/04/2011 22:18:06
This book manages to cover so many concepts and beliefs, but don't let mention of God put you off; the relationship between Baz and Kirsty is what it's really about. Religion, atheism, politics, the homeless, man's ruination of the planet -- it's all there -- but ultimately it's a love story. It's addictive reading.
